Organisers of large church events like SP4Christ, the Trusted Camporee and similar should be communicating to their groups the need for travel cover and applying for cover through RMS.

This is especially important if you have people travelling overseas.  If you are an Administrator, Event Coordinator, Youth Director or Pathfinder Leader please ensure everyone travelling from your territory or in your group has travel insurance.

Australian Pathfinder clubs travelling to Trusted Camporee – particularly those with higher interstate travel costs (flights, accommodation, transfers, hire) – may wish to consider travel insurance. Travel cover may be useful for damaged luggage, or unforeseen travel cancellations. Domestic travel insurance in Australia does not provide ambulance cover and generally does not cover medical expenses as Australian laws place restrictions on travel insurers, it’s worth noting that travellers still have access to Medicare and any private health insurance that they hold.

When you buy travel insurance make sure it covers you from the day you depart right through until the day you arrive back home.  Always buy your insurance from a reputable insurer and take time to understand how the cover works and the limitations and exclusions as they affect what and how much you can claim if you suffer a loss.

Short-term Travel (STT) Cover can be used by church employees, members, volunteers and their accompanying spouse and dependent children for travel on approved Seventh-day Adventist Church business or activities. The church organisation approving the travel must be part of the South Pacific Division.

STT can be used for international travel (some restrictions may apply) and for Australian residents travelling interstate within Australia.

Make sure you buy your travel cover before or when you make your first booking.

Cover is not automatic and each person travelling must complete an application form each time they travel. Individuals can apply online. (Groups can email RMS to submit a group application.)
