A Message from RMS for those in TC Alfred warning areas.

Large regions of NSW and QLD now face the threat of TC Alfred.

If your area is under threat of cyclone damage or potential flooding, please keep the following in mind:

  1. DO NOT put your life at risk to save Adventist church-owned property from flood or damage – please let the authorities handle that. We know that many of you have already been working hard to action your Adventist site’s flood mitigation plan, thank you! Please ensure you give yourself plenty of time to take care of your own personal flood preparations, safety and wellbeing and that of your family.
  2. STAY INFORMED – Listen to the advice of your local Emergency Response Services – keep informed via social media, news and radio. Aim to keep yourself and your people safe.
  3. EMPLOYERS – Please support your staff from Wednesday onwards if their homes are within the areas declared as facing potentially ‘catastrophic’ conditions. This may mean allowing them time off or to leave work early.
  4. NOTIFY RMS – If Adventist Church-owned property is affected by cyclone damage or flooding, please notify RMS by calling 02 9847 3375 or email us on [email protected]
  5. KEEP PRAYING – RMS has seen the power of prayer at work in these circumstances before. So keep your prayers going!

Finally, we acknowledge those Adventist churches, schools, ADRA staff and volunteers, and faithful church members who offer real assistance to the victims of flood and storm. We know you will open your doors to your communities and we give you our heartfelt praise and appreciation. If your site is offering temporary accommodation, and you have any questions or concerns about that, please do reach out to RMS or ADRA Australia.

We remain highly concerned for all under threat. We join you in praying vigilantly.

On behalf or Risk Management Service, please take care and stay safe.
