New building and construction works
Risk Management Service would like to make you aware that insurers have tightened their internal procedures in relation to providing cover for new building purchases and new building constructions.
As a result, it can take considerable time for sites to gather the necessary information required and for an application for cover to be reviewed and confirmed by insurers.
Adventist entities undertaking the following activities – renovations, extensions, new building constructions, new building purchases – need to notify RMS as soon as a contract for construction or purchase is approved.
It is important to note that:
- Cover is not automatically guaranteed and insurers now require time to review the risk thoroughly and ask for additional information in order to determine whether they are willing to cover the property.
- If an application for cover is received with insufficient notice, late or at the last minute this may result in your Adventist site experiencing a period of no cover while insurers review the risk.
We know that the process of obtaining cover can be confusing, but you don’t have to do it alone. Please reach out to the RMS team if you have any new building purchases, renovations, extensions or new construction planned. We are always ready to help.
Thank you for working with us to protect the resilience and sustainability of the Adventist Church mission in the South Pacific.
